Makomina is a Japanese female duo unit consisting of Mako (born February 6, 1998, Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture) and Minami (born January 7, 1998, Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture). Their dance videos, called "twin dances," which they posted online when they were in high school, became a hot topic and gained popularity among junior and senior high school girls. In 2016, they made their major debut with Universal Music and released their first single "Te wo Tsunagoyo" in October of the same year. The song was a collaboration with the manga of the same name that was serialized in the magazine Bessatsu Margaret, and the girls themselves wrote the lyrics. The name of the unit is derived from their respective names.
