Makeout Videotape

Makeout Videotape was a Canadian indie rock project used by Mac DeMarco primarily between 2009 and 2011. Characterized by a lo-fi, blues-inflected sound often described as early “blue wave,” the project released the independently produced album Heat Wave! in 2009, followed by the single “Weird Meats” in 2010. These were followed by Eating Like a Kid, Bossa Yeye, and the full-length Ying Yang, all released in 2011. The project effectively ended in 2011 when DeMarco relocated to Montreal and began releasing music under his own name.
