Francisco Javier Rodríguez Morales, known artistically as Maka, was born on December 10, 1985, in Granada, Spain, and has built a career blending flamenco, Spanish hip-hop, and reggaetón into a signature sound that resonates widely across the Latin music scene. Maka made his recording debut in 2014 with PNA, followed by the dual releases Pvreza and Makanudo in 2015, establishing himself as a rising force in the fusion of urban and flamenco styles. His 2016 albums Raíces and Alma continued to expand his audience, combining deeply personal lyrics with flamenco rhythms and contemporary beats. In 2018, he released Dvende, and in 2020, he dropped two albums, Bendiciones and Maldiciones, further solidifying his reputation for emotive and genre-defying music. Maka's 2021 project, Detrás de esta pinta hay un flamenco, highlighted his commitment to honoring his roots while innovating within urban genres. With Gloria Bendita in 2023 and Aura in 2025, Maka continued to captivate audiences, driven by major hits like "El Arte de Vivir," whose video surpassed ninety million views on his channel.
