Majida El Roumi Baradhy, born on December 13, 1956 in Kfarshima, Lebanon, is a Lebanese soprano singer and songwriter. At age 14, she performed on Télé Liban with Najib Hankash, singing songs by Umm Kulthum and Fairuz. In 1974, at 16, El Roumi participated in the talent show Studio El Fan on Télé Liban, winning the gold medal for oriental singing. Her first single "Am Behlamak" was released in 1975 with collaboration from Said Akl and Elias Rahbani. In 1982, she released her album تسجÙÙ ØÙ ٠باشر Ù Ù ØÙÙØ§Øª 1982 Live Recording - 1982 Recitals. El Roumi's career includes notable albums such as ÙÙ٠ات Words (1991), "Ya Saken Afkari" (1988), and رسائ٠Resa'al (1996). She has collaborated with various artists, including Youssou N'Dour on the duet "Biladi Ana".
