Mahmundi

Marcela Vale, known professionally as Mahmundi, was born on July 29, 1986, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Before launching her solo career, Vale was a vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter for the band Velho Irlandês. In October 2010, she left the band to pursue other musical endeavors. Mahmundi's debut came with the release of the EP Efeito das Cores in 2012, which included collaborations with Lucas de Paiva on production and Felipe Vellozo on bass. In 2014, Mahmundi won the Multishow Brazilian Music Award for the "New Song" category with "Sentimento". Her first album, Mahmundi, was released in 2016. She was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award in 2019 for her album Para Dias Ruins in the category of Best Contemporary Pop Album in Portuguese.
