Although originally from California, it was on the folk scene in Portland (Oregon) that Matt Ward made his name as Mr. Ward. Over the years, the bucolic tones of this accomplished musician's compositions have established him as one of the stalwarts of American folk, with albums such as Hold Time (2009) and collaborations with the supergroup Monsters of Folk and the duo She & Him, with actress Zooey Deschanel. In 2012, Mr. Ward returns solo with the successful A Wasteland Companion.
