Lynda Thalie

Lynda Thalie, born on June 25, 1978, in Oran, Algeria, is a singer and songwriter who immigrated to Canada at 16. She won Ma première Place des Arts in 2000, launching her career. Her debut album Sablier was released in 2002. Thalie performed at the FrancoFolies de Montréal (2002) and Festival international de jazz de Montréal (2009). She contributed to the soundtrack of Cité-Amérique by Michel Cusson and had her single "Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles" as the theme for the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles du Maroc in 2009. Thalie participated in Ensemble pour Haïti in January 2010, supporting Haiti earthquake victims, and performed at the Francophonie events during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Her subsequent albums include Nomadia (2013).
