Lucky J

Lucky J was a South Korean hip-hop and pop group formed by YMC Entertainment. The group had a brief career, being active from 2014 to 2016. Its lineup consisted of rapper J'Kyun, vocalist and rapper Jessi, and vocalist J-Yo. The group was named Lucky J because every member featured the letter J in their names. They made their official debut on July 17, 2014, with the release of their first single "Can You Hear Me?" and its accompanying music video. They performed the single on Mnet's M! Countdown and later appeared on Mnet's Singer Game and Immortal Songs 2 promoting it. 2015 saw the group going on hiatus as its members pursued solo activities. J-Yo collaborated with singer Eru on "Avenue," while J'Kyun released "Bad X" featuring Jooheon from Monsta X and Konsoul. Jessi gained a lot of public attention through her participation in the rap survival program Unpretty Rapstar and later released her solo rap single "Ssenunni." She also collaborated with artists such as Park Jin-young and Primary and appeared on popular variety shows like Running Man and Happy Together. Lucky J made a comeback in early 2016 with the release of their second single, "No Love," performing it on M! Countdown. However, in August 2016, J-Yo departed to focus on his solo career under the stage name Jero. Soon after that, Jessi confirmed that the group had officially disbanded.
