Lucky Blondo

Lucky Blondo (Gérard Blondiot) is one of the meteorites of early French rock. Born in Paris on July 23, 1944, he began singing in the cabarets of St Germain des Prés. His encounter with Les Chaussettes Noires and Danny Logan's Les Pirates converted him to rock. His cover of "Sheila", which became "Jolie Petite Sheila", was his first hit. In 1964, he tried his hand at a more crooner style with "Sur Ton Visage une Larme". Lucky Blondo gave up singing in 1974 to pursue a career in advertising.
