Lucho Paz

Luis Eladio Paz Díaz, known professionally as Lucho Paz, is a Peruvian tropical music singer born on February 18, 1959, in Chiclayo. He began his musical journey in the early 1980s, gaining recognition through televised competitions like Trampolín a la Fama and Festivisión. In 1982, he joined Grupo 5, initially performing ballads before transitioning to tropical rhythms, notably with the cumbia "Sueño Contigo." After a decade with Grupo 5, Lucho Paz pursued a solo career, collaborating with Los Hermanos Calvay and Agua Marina, where his rendition of "Tu Amor Fue Una Mentira" became a hit. In the 2000s, he founded his own orchestra, Caña Brava, producing popular tracks like "El Casorio" and "Tu Ausencia." He later collaborated with Hermanos Yaipén on songs such as "Que Levante la Mano," "Otra Noche Sin Ti," and "Un Sueño." In 2008, he launched Banda Brava, further establishing his presence in the cumbia scene. His third stint with Grupo 5 in 2012 saw the release of "Motor y Motivo." In 2018, he introduced Agua Azul, inspired by Agua Marina's sound. Lucho Paz's subsequent works include the tribute album Un Canto a Mi Ídolo (2022), honoring Nino Bravo, and the single "Te Extrañaré" featuring Marcos Llunas. He continued to release music, such as "Querido Ladrón" and "No Comprendo" in 2024, and "Mix Maravilla" in 2025, showcasing his enduring influence in Peruvian cumbia.
