LSG

LSG, an American R&B band, was formed in 1996 and consisted of Gerald Levert, Keith Sweat, and Johnny Gill. The group originated from a collaboration initiated by Keith Sweat, who invited Gerald Levert and Johnny Gill to form the supergroup. Initially, R. Kelly was also part of the lineup but was later replaced. Their debut album, Levert-Sweat-Gill, released in November 1997, featured collaborations with notable artists such as P. Diddy, The Lox, Jermaine Dupri, Faith Evans, Missy Elliott, and LL Cool J. The album sold nearly three million copies and included the hit single "My Body", which topped Number 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for seven weeks. LSG's impact was immediate and profound, influencing a generation of R&B artists. The group's second album, LSG 2, was released in July 2003, featuring the singles "Just Friends" and "Shakedown". Despite their success, LSG disbanded in 2003. Gerald Levert passed away on November 10, 2006, from a heart attack.
