Los Salvajes

Los Salvajes is a Spanish rock group from Barcelona. It was formed in 1962 by vocalist Gaby Alegret, guitarist Andy González, rhythm guitarist Francisco Miralles, bassist Sebastián Sospedra, and drummer Delfín Fernández. Initially performing under the name The Savages, they developed a reputation for a harder, more aggressive sound than many Spanish pop groups of the 1960s, drawing influence from The Rolling Stones and The Who. After returning from a period of performing in Germany, the band signed with EMI in 1965 and released their first EP. Their early work showed a Beat-influenced style that soon evolved toward harder rock. In 1966, they achieved major success with the single “Soy Así.” Military service obligations in 1970 led to the band’s first dissolution, but the group later re-formed in various configurations for reunion activity, including a modern revival beginning in 2013 featuring original members.
