Los Golpes

Los Golpes, a Chilean band originating from Tocopilla, was founded in 1971 by brothers Fernando and Mario Bustamante. Initially known as Los Hermanos Bustamante, they later changed their name to The Black Chileans in 1966 after recruiting Rubén Alegre and Ricardo Aracena. The band's breakthrough came in 1971 when they moved to Santiago and signed with Emi-Odeón, releasing hits such as "Vete ya", "Esa mujer", and "Con la mano en la Biblia". These songs propelled them to fame across America. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Los Golpes released several albums including Olvidarte nunca (1971), Mil caminos (1973), and Qué piensas (1974). Following the deaths of three founding members, Nicolás Bustamante took over leadership. The band continued to release compilations such as Clásicos latinos (1994) and Nostalgia, romanticismo y recuerdos (2010), maintaining their cultural impact in Latin American music. In 2022, the band's new lineup re-recorded some of their predecessors' biggest hits on the self-titled release Los Golpes.
