Los Embajadores Vallenatos, formed in 1982 in Colombia, consisted of vocalist Robinson Damián Villanueva (born 24 March 1961 in Villanueva) and accordionist Ramiro Colmenares (born in Bucaramanga and died 17 September 2022 in Paraguay). The duo began as âEl Grupo de Uparâ before adopting the final name after meeting in Valledupar, the capital of Cesar. Their first studio effort, the 1982 album Los Embajadores Vallenatos, featured the track âLa Junteraâ, marking their entry into the national market. Subsequent releases included El Plomo (1984), Brindes⦠(1985), and Fenomenal(1986), which expanded their audience and established them as a prominent vallenato act. The 1994 album Borrachera Donde Quiera included the internationally recognized âEl Santo Cachónâ, written by Romualdo Brito, while the 1995 album Mas Internacionales further extended their repertoire. Later compilation releases gathered many of their best-known recordings. Throughout their career, Los Embajadores Vallenatos were celebrated for their fusion of Caribbean and inland Colombian musical traditions, solidifying their legacy within the vallenato genre.
