Los Chikos del Maíz

Los Chikos del Maíz, a Spanish political hip hop group, was formed in 2005 in Valencia. The group consisted of MCs Ricardo Romero Laullón, known as Nega, and Antonio Mejías Martínez, known as Toni el Sucio, along with DJ Plan B. Their debut EP Miedo y Asco en Valencia was released in 2005, marking their breakthrough moment. In 2011, they released their first full-length album Pasion de Talibanes, which peaked at number 8 on the Promusicae chart of best-selling albums in Spain. The group's politically charged lyrics often addressed themes such as monarchy, social criticism, and the Spanish hip hop scene. They collaborated with various artists, including the Spanish hardcore punk band Habeas Corpus, releasing Riot Propaganda in 2012 and Agenda Oculta in 2017. Their album Yes Future, released on December 2, 2022, was accompanied by a book of essays on future concepts.
