Los Amaya

Los Amaya, a Spanish musical group formed in Barcelona at the end of the 1960s, consisted of brothers José and Delfín Amaya. The duo, both of Romani descent, began their music career under the guidance of Andrés Batista, Carmen Amaya's guitarist. They made their recording debut in 1969 with the song "Los campanilleros" and rumbas versions of popular themes such as "El bueno, el feo y el malo" and "Bailadores". Los Amaya gained significant recognition with their version of the classic iberoamerican song "Caramelos" in 1971. In 1978, they signed with Tony Ronald's label, leading to hits like "La inyección" and "Vete". They were also credited with introducing the electric guitar into flamenco rumba and have been considered key figures in the rumba catalana genre.
