Locklead is the stage name of Wesley Endeman, a Dutch DJ and producer hailing from Nijverdal in the eastern Netherlands. Emerging from the vibrant Utrecht scene, he has swiftly established himself as a prominent figure in the global house music landscape. Drawing inspiration from a diverse musical upbringing that encompassed Motown, soul, funk, and hip-hop, his journey into electronic music was catalysed by the deep electronic sounds of Gui Boratto and Nathan Fake. This led him to immerse himself in Utrecht's underground house scene, where he honed his craft and developed a distinctive style characterised by a fusion of deep house, soul, funk, and disco elements. His technical prowess and innovative approach to beat-making garnered recognition, culminating in a first-place victory at the Triphouse Rotterdam King of the Beat Battle in 2014, judged by house veterans Benny Rodrigues, Serge, and Gerd. Locklead's discography boasts releases on esteemed labels such as Slapfunk, Pleasure Zone, Dungeon Meat, and Up The Stuss. His debut album, Square One, released in 2021, showcases his evolving sound—a blend of deep, driving grooves and atmospheric textures. Tracks like "Plants and Astronauts" exemplify his ability to merge deep house influences with experimental sonics, creating an immersive auditory experience. He has continued to build on this with further releases such as Sense of Future in 2023 and the Unison EP in 2025.
