Lindsey Stirling

Born in Santa Ana, California on September 21, 1986, Lindsey Stirling is a violinist, composer, and dancer. After being told by various industry experts that her unique combination of classical, rock, pop and hip-hop music was unmarketable, she carried on playing it regardless and went on to garner more than ten million followers on her video channel. She grew up in Gilbert, Arizona in a working-class household. At the age of 23, she participated on televised talent show America's Got Talent where her performances were praised. However, after trying to incorporate more dancing into her routines, she was told by the judges that this was not the way forward for her talent. Lindsey Stirling wisely decided to follow her gut instincts and continue with her own style of music and performing, eventually becoming and one of the most successful independent artists on the internet. Her tech savvy has resulted in her performing many collaborations with other successful independent artists including The Piano Guys, Tyler Ward, Peter Hollens, and The Decemberists. She signed to Troy Carter's management company Atom Factory, who arranged a world tour, firmly establishing her as an international artist. Her 2012 self-titled debut album fared well in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Her sophomore release, Shatter Me, was released in 2014 after a Pledge Music campaign provided funding. She later released the record officially at which point it charted at Number 2 on the Billboard 200. In 2016, she released her autobiography - The Only Pirate at the Party – and her third album, Brave Enough, which rose to Number 1 on the Dance/Electronic Albums Chart and Number 5 on the Billboard 200. Lindsey Stirling took part in the television series Dancing With the Stars before collaborating with Evanescence on their album track “Hi-Lo” in 2018. She released the single “Underground” in 2019, which was taken from her fifth album Artemis, released later in the year. Along with the release of the Artemis album, she released a limited comic book series – six issues – that explored the story behind the album concept. Lindsey Stirling began a busy 2022 with composing the theme song to the television series Good Sam and making TV appearances and performing at high-profile live events. In August 2022, she released the single “Ice Storm.”
