LIFriends

LIFriends was a five-member melodic rap band from Hamura City, Tokyo, known for their high-energy performances and strong local roots. Formed in 2011, the group gained early attention through performances at local festivals and events, building a grassroots following. Their major breakthrough came with the release of their second single "Age Age Eejanaika!!!" on October 23, 2013, following a string of indie releases and sold-out local shows. In 2013, they launched an ambitious 100-show campaign leading up to their major label debut, which culminated in their first single "Aishite Tomanai Rock'n'Roll". LIFriends continued to expand their presence, headlining festivals and embarking on a 47-prefecture national tour in 2015. Their efforts culminated in a sold-out final tour concert at Shibuya Public Hall. The band maintained a close connection to their hometown, even being named "Hamura Support Ambassadors" and hosting the annual outdoor event Hamura Nigiwai Ongakusai. Despite overcoming challenges like a serious traffic accident in 2017, LIFriends disbanded in 2019 following the release of their best album LIFE. On October 29, 2023, they reunited for a one-night-only show with chuLa at Spotify O-WEST, celebrating their legacy and deep bond with fans. The members were Shunkun, Funky, Makoto, Kami and Hayato.
