Lewis Watson, born 19â¯Octoberâ¯1992 in Bicester, Oxfordshire, is an English pop singer who began playing guitar at sixteen without formal lessons. He first attracted attention in 2010 with YouTube covers under the alias âHolyLoowis,â leading to his debut EP Itâs Got Four Sad Songs On It BTW in Mayâ¯2012, which drew Warnerâ¯Bros. Records. Watson followed with Another Four Sad Songs (Octoberâ¯2012), The Wild (Marchâ¯2013), Four More Songs (Juneâ¯2013), and Some Songs With Some Friends (Novemberâ¯2013), all through Warner.His first studio album, The Morning, was released on 16â¯Juneâ¯2014 under Warner, featuring reworked tracks from earlier EPs. In Marchâ¯2017 he issued Midnight via Cookingâ¯Vinyl, recording the album in two weeks with a live band; an acoustic version followed in Septemberâ¯2017. A live EP, Live at Hoxton Hall, arrived in Marchâ¯2018. Watson released themed EPs such as Nineties, Noughties, Tennies (Mayâ¯2018) and Summer Jamz â18 (Juneâ¯2018). In 2019â2020 he collaborated with dodie on âNot What I Meantâ and released The Love That You Want in Mayâ¯2020, with an acoustic counterpart in Novemberâ¯2020. During the COVIDâ19 pandemic, Watson streamed on Twitch, released covers and piano EPs, and announced September Studios, a project to reârecord The Morning live on Twitch in Septemberâ¯2021.
