Lewis Watson

Lewis Watson, born 19 October 1992 in Bicester, Oxfordshire, is an English pop singer who began playing guitar at sixteen without formal lessons. He first attracted attention in 2010 with YouTube covers under the alias “HolyLoowis,” leading to his debut EP It’s Got Four Sad Songs On It BTW in May 2012, which drew Warner Bros. Records. Watson followed with Another Four Sad Songs (October 2012), The Wild (March 2013), Four More Songs (June 2013), and Some Songs With Some Friends (November 2013), all through Warner.His first studio album, The Morning, was released on 16 June 2014 under Warner, featuring reworked tracks from earlier EPs. In March 2017 he issued Midnight via Cooking Vinyl, recording the album in two weeks with a live band; an acoustic version followed in September 2017. A live EP, Live at Hoxton Hall, arrived in March 2018. Watson released themed EPs such as Nineties, Noughties, Tennies (May 2018) and Summer Jamz ’18 (June 2018). In 2019–2020 he collaborated with dodie on “Not What I Meant” and released The Love That You Want in May 2020, with an acoustic counterpart in November 2020. During the COVID‑19 pandemic, Watson streamed on Twitch, released covers and piano EPs, and announced September Studios, a project to re‑record The Morning live on Twitch in September 2021.
