Lee Dae-hwi, born on January 29, 2001, and popularly known as Daehwi, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, producer, and TV personality. He is a member of the boy group AB6IX and gained prominence through the reality show Produce 101 Season 2, where he ranked third, leading to his debut with Wanna One. Besides his singing career, Lee has written songs for various artists and has hosted TV shows like M Countdown, eventually becoming a permanent host. Born in Seoul, Lee experienced personal hardships, including the loss of his father at age six. He spent time living in Japan and the U.S. before passing the JYP Global Audition in 2015, which launched his trainee journey. He later joined Brand New Music in 2016 and graduated from the School of Performing Arts Seoul in 2019. He is currently studying Broadcasting and Entertainment at Global Cyber University. Lee's career began with Produce 101 in 2017, where he was a leading contestant and the face of the show's theme song "Pick Me," ultimately finishing third and joining Wanna One. The group debuted in August 2017 and promoted heavily, including TV appearances and sub-unit activities. They disbanded in January 2019. During Wanna One's activities, Lee also engaged in solo projects, including hosting music shows and composing music, such as "Hollywood" for Produce 101 and songs for other artists like MXM and Kang Min-hee. In 2018, he participated in Produce 48 as a producer and continued composing and releasing music under Brand New Music. In 2019, Lee debuted with AB6IX, releasing music and writing songs for other artists. He also co-hosted M Countdown until 2021 and is planning acting roles, including a debut role in the web drama Mon Chouchou. Additionally, he is producing songs for Mnet's CAP-TEEN and won first place on the music production show Listen Up in 2022. Lee was the leading artist in the songs "Rose, Scent, Kiss" in 2020 and "In Your Eyes" in 2022.
