Lauren Aquilina, born 23 June 1995 in Bristol, England, is an English singerâsongwriter and pianist who began performing at age eight and playing piano at nine. She first attracted attention with the independently released EP Fools in October 2012, followed by Sinners in July 2013 and Liars in March 2014, forming a trilogy that showcased her pianoâdriven pop style and earned her a BBC Introducing stage appearance at Reading & Leeds Festival in August 2013 and a soldâout headline show at Manhattanâs Rockwood Hall in August 2013. After signing with Island Records and Universal Music Group, she released her debut studio album Isnât It Strange? on 26 August 2016. In October 2016 she announced a hiatus, later revealing mental health challenges in 2020, and returned to music with the 2018 single "Psycho" and subsequent releases "Tobacco In My Sheets", "Swap Places", and "Best Friend", culminating in the EP Ghost World on 13 November 2020.
