Lanterns on the Lake, an English indie rock band from Newcastle upon Tyne, was formed in 2007 by Hazel Wilde, Paul Gregory, and Oliver Ketteringham. They self-released initial material before signing to Bella Union in December 2010. Their debut album Gracious Tide, Take Me Home came out in 2011, receiving positive reviews with a Metacritic rating of 74. The band released their second album Until the Colours Run in 2013, which garnered critical acclaim with a Metacritic score of 84. Their third album Beings was released in 2015 and met with widespread praise. In 2020, they released their fourth album Spook the Herd, shortlisted for the Mercury Prize. The band's music has been featured in various media, including the film Where Soldiers Come From and the game Life is Strange: Before the Storm.
