Born in New Zealand and based in Melbourne, Lance Ferguson is a guitarist, songwriter, producer and bandleader best known for being the mainstay of soul/funk band The Bamboos and projects such as the Black Feeling and Rare Groove Spectrum series. He also releases tracks under the names Lanu, Menagerie and Machines Always Win, as well as with You Am I's Tim Rogers as part of the duo The Ferguson Rogers Process. In 2025, he produced the soundtrack to the film L'Océan de Toi with his band The Bamboos, and in the same year produced the third volume in the Rare Groove Spectrum series.
