LaBrassBanda was founded in 2007 by Stefan Dettl, a trumpeter and vocalist from Ãbersee am Chiemsee, Germany. Dettl, inspired by New York City brass ensembles, gathered fellow conservatory students Andreas Hofmeir, Oliver Wrage, Manuel Winbeck, and Manuel da Coll to form the group. The bandâs breakthrough came with the 2008 release of the studio album Habediehre, followed by Ãbersee in 2009, which established their signature blend of Blasmusik, world music, and funk. In 2011 the single "Woo Hah Marienkäfer" featuring Busta Rhymes introduced an international collaboration, while the 2012 live album Labrassbanda: Live Olympiahalle München captured the energy of their soldâout performance before 12,000 fans. Subsequent studio releases-including Europa (2013), Tecno (2013), Wot! (2014), Kiah Royal (2014), and Europa â In Dub (2015)-expanded their repertoire, and the 2017 album Around the World showcased their global touring experience. Notable singles such as "Nackert" (2013) and "VW Jetta" (2014) reflected their eclectic style. The band received the Bayerischen Poetentaler in 2015 and placed second in the German preâselection for Eurovision 2013 with "Nackert". LaBrassBanda continued to perform, later releasing a remix of Rammsteinâs "Dicke Titten" and published the book Barfuà in Lederhosen um die Welt, documenting their international journeys.
