La Varda

La Varda, a French folk alternative group from Perpignan and Hautes-Pyrénées, was formed in 1999 by Danito and Franck Marty (Kif), which expanded to include Richard Mas (Drachir), Régis Tillet (Tix) and Hai Nguyen on violin. Their music blended traditional folk sounds with jazz and rock elements, often featuring instrumental pieces and lyrics that addressed themes of travel and political engagement. La Varda's debut release Un premier pour la route came out in 2000, followed by the full-length album Folk You! in 2002, which reached number 31 on the French charts in February 2004. Danito left in 2003 and was replaced by Cédric, who departed in 2004. The band continued to tour extensively and released their subsequent album Les Chemins de l'errance... in 2005.
