La Kinky Beat was a Spanish musical group formed in Barcelona in May 2003. The band emerged from several projects including Trimelón and Radio Bemba. Their breakthrough came with a self-produced demo featuring "Maria Maria" and "P sin B", which won a contest organized by Radio Chango and Radio France Internationale. In 2004, they released their debut album, Made in Barna, produced by Stephane Carteaux and David Bourguignon, blending rocksteady, reggae, punk, and world music elements. The album received positive reviews and led to extensive touring across Europe. Their second studio album, One More Time (2006), introduced drum and bass influences. In 2008, they released Karate Beat, showcasing a more electronic sound with breakbeat and jungle elements. Their final album, Massive Underground (2011), blended drum and bass, reggae, and dub. La Kinky Beat disbanded in 2013.
