La Factoría, a Panamanian reggaeton group formed in 1999, emerged from the collaboration of producer DJ Pablito with vocalists Demphra (Marlene Romero), Joycee (Johanna Mendoza), MC Joe (Edgardo Miranda, later known as Joey Montana), and Goodfella. Their debut album, La Factoría (2001), featured hits like "Todavía" and "Que me maten," propelling them to regional fame. The 2004 release of Más Allá included popular tracks such as "No lastimes más" and "Ese hombre es mío." In 2006, the group released Nuevas Metas, with the standout single "Perdóname" featuring Eddy Lover, which achieved significant success across Latin America and earned a Platinum Disc for over 100,000 digital downloads. Following lineup changes, Demphra continued the project, releasing a self-titled album in 2010. She eventually severed ties with Panama Music in 2013 and embarked on a solo career. After a hiatus, La Factoría returned in 2016, reintroducing their music to both longtime fans and new audiences. In October 2023, they released a new version of "Perdóname" featuring Puerto Rican artist Farruko, demonstrating their enduring influence in the reggaeton genre.
