Kyan

Raised in Praia Grande, São Paulo, Renan Mesquita da Silva adopted the name Kyan around 2019 after releasing his breakthrough track “Mandrake” with producer Mu540, transitioning from church singing and funk into trap donning the inspiration of Kylian Mbappé. In 2021 he released his debut studio album Bandido Fi Di Crente (produced with Mu540), then explored introspective territory with Dias Antes de Mandrake (2022), before the system-shaking EP UM Quebrada Inteligente (2023)—which blended trap, drill, funk, and house, landed in the Global Streaming Top 10 and was launched during Paris Fashion Week. Following that, Só Vilão, Aqui Não Tem Herói (June 2024) cemented his more mature sound and solidified critical acclaim, earning praise for its balance between braggadocio and personal reflection. Early 2025 saw the release of 2 Quebrada Inteligente, featuring heavy-hitters like Veigh, Djonga, Kayblack, Triz, and 99 no Beat, with its lead single breaking through at the Brasília-based Funn Festival.
