Kurdo

Kurdo is a German rapper of Kurdish origin who was born Kurdo Abdel Kader in 1988 in Sulaymaniyah, Iraqi Kurdistan. After his parents moved to Germany in 1994 they settled in Heidelberg where Kader grew up. In 2011 he began uploading his music to YouTube and was sufficiently encouraged by the success of his channel that he created his own record label and released the mixtape '11a Stock Sound' along with the single 'Nike Kappe'. His critically-acclaimed debut album 'Slum Dog Millionaer' was two years in the making and featured collaborations with Eko Fresh, Nazar und Kontra K and KC Rebell. Shortly after its release in 2014 the album entered the top ten in the German charts eventually reaching number six. The follow-up album 'Almaz' fared even better and in 2015 made it into the top three. Three more top ten albums followed including 'Slum Dog Millionaer 2' which in 2019 reached number two confirming Kader's status as a consistently successful artist within the German rap and hip-hop movement.
