Kubat

Ramazan Kubat, known professionally as Kubat, was born on October 4, 1974, in Antwerp. He is a Turkish folk singer and composer who began his musical journey at an early age, playing the "cura" and singing in local venues. Kubat released his debut album, Kubat, in May 1996, marking the start of his professional career. In 2001, he released Arşiv I- II-III, a compilation of 35 anonymous Turkish folk songs accompanied by an extensive booklet detailing each song's background. His 2003 album, Lokman, showcased diverse influences from rock, pop, jazz, and classical music within the framework of Turkish folk. In 2015, Kubat sang "Ertuğrul Türküsü," the theme song for the Japanese-Turkish drama film 125 Years Memory. Throughout his career, Kubat has been noted for his unique style and innovative use of electronic instruments in traditional folk music.
