Kizz Daniel

Kizz Daniel is a Yoruba rapper, singer, and record label owned who introduced his unique sound — a mix of Afropop, hip-hop, and R&B textures — with the award-winning debut album New Era in 2016. He was born as "Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe" on May 1, 1994, in Abeokuta (Ogun State), Nigeria. Kizz Daniel began releasing original music in 2014 and built an audience quickly, even winning the Nigeria Entertainment Award for "Best New Act to Watch" in 2015. His first full-length project, New Era, was released the following year. New Era reached Number 8 on the Billboard World Album Chart during its first week of availability and eventually won both "Album of the Year" and "Best R&B/Pop Album" at Nigeria's annual hip-hop awards show, The Headies, in 2016. Two years later, Kizz Daniel appeared on Wizkid's single "For You" and released his second solo record, No Bad Songz, which peaked at Number 1 on the World Album Chart. A third solo effort, King of Love, followed in 2020, with Barnabas appearing the following year. In 2022, Kizz Daniel's single "Buga" became a viral sensation in Nigeria, as well as the subject of a dance trend on social media outlets. The song also appeared on multiple International charts that year, as did its follow-up, "Cough (Odo)." Also, Kizz Daniel performed "Kuga" at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. In 2023, the same track won the "Song of the Year" award at the Soundcity MVP Awards in Lagos. Daniel released other singles and the album Maverick in 2023, followed by TZA ("Thankz Alot" ) in 2024. In 2025, the album Uncle K: Lemon Chase, featuring hits like "Al-Jannah" with Odumodublvck and Bella Schmurda, "Titi" with Fola, "Black Girl Magic", "Secure" with Zlatan, and "Police" with Angélique Kidjo and Johnny Drille. In June 2025, the singer announced that he was taking a break from music to focus on his family.
