Kim Young Geun (born December 5, 1996, in Hamyang-gun, Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea) is a South Korean singer best known as the winner of Superstar K 2016. Nicknamed the “Jiri Mountain Soul” for his heartfelt vocals and humble roots, Kim gained nationwide attention for his emotional performances and inspiring life story. Before rising to fame, he worked as a day laborer at a construction site and applied for Superstar K multiple times, starting from season 3, before finally breaking through in 2016. Kim made his official debut on December 21, 2017, with the release of "Under Wall Road", a soulful track that marked the start of his professional music journey. Since then, he has released multiple EPs including Period (2021), Love, Days (2024), and Beyond (2024), and his most recent single "Meet Me in Yeonnam-dong" (2025), blending K-pop and K-ballad styles.
