Kim Suyoung

Kim Suyoung (김수영) is a South Korean singer-songwriter and producer known for her evocative indie and folk ballads. Born on January 8, 1996, in Busan, South Korea, she grew up in Seoul, where she cultivated her passion for music. Debuting on June 28, 2017, with her first EP Behind, Kim Suyoung quickly established herself as a soulful and introspective artist in the indie music scene. Her music blends gentle melodies with heartfelt lyrics, resonating with a wide audience. Following her debut, she released several digital singles, including "The Star" (2018) and "Is Someone On Your Mind?" (2019), showcasing her versatility across genres like indie, folk, blues, and ballads. In 2020, she joined Mnet’s survival show Folk Us, earning recognition as one of the top 41 contestants. Kim Suyoung reached a broader audience in 2023 as Singer No.60 on JTBC’s Sing Again 3, where she finished in the top 16, earning acclaim for her emotionally raw performances. Her studio album Round and Round (2023) and EP Itsuyoung (2024) further solidified her artistry.
