Kim Kwang-jin

Kim Kwang-jin (김광진), born on September 17, 1963, in Incheon, South Korea, is a celebrated singer-songwriter and one of the few million-selling artists in Korean pop music. A graduate in business administration from Yonsei University, he initially worked as a fund manager before pursuing music. Kim debuted in 1991 with Han Dong-jun’s "You’re Just in This World" but gained prominence as part of the duo The Classic, formed with keyboardist Park Yong-jun. Their 1994 hit "Magic Castle" became a cultural phenomenon, selling over 1.3 million copies and remaining one of Korea’s most beloved pop ballads. The group’s second album produced enduring songs such as 송가 and 여우야, cementing their reputation during the golden age of 1990s K-pop. As a solo artist, Kim released acclaimed albums including My Love, My Life (1998), It’s Me (2000) featuring the timeless ballad "Letter", and Solveig (2002). Beyond his own career, he composed hits for artists such as Lee Sora, Han Dong-jun, and Park Hyo-shin.
