Kesha

Born in Los Angeles (California) on March 1, 1987, American singer Kesha Rose Sebert is better known by her first name Ke$ha. Discovered on Flo Rida's worldwide hit "Right Round" (#1 in the U.S. and U.K.), the singer was one of the revelations of 2009 with her first #1 single "Tik Tok", followed by the equally #1 album Animal (2010), composed and produced by her mentor Dr. Luke. Dr. Luke, who also officiated on the Cannibal EP, from which the second No.1 "We R Who We R" was taken, also played a part on Warrior (2012), a second No.2 album. More rocking than its predecessor, this one features the hit "Die Young" (#2) and contributions from Iggy Pop and Wayne Coyne (The Flaming Lips). The next album, Rainbow (2017), came only five years later, due to legal disputes that delayed its release. The singer took advantage of this time to renew herself and offer a more eclectic album, mixing different influences such as rock and country, with surprising contributions from Eagles of Death Metal and Dolly Parton. A chart hit, reaching number one on the Billboard 200, Rainbow was followed three years later by High Road, which she described as a return to her roots. This highly eclectic No. 7 album tackled dream-pop and featured contributions from Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys) and country singer Sturgill Simpson on the same track, "Resentment". Returning from a tour interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, Ke$ha takes part from home in the charity concert One World: Together at Home (2020) and creates the podcast Kesha and the Creepies. She collaborates with Dutch DJ Sam Feldt, Walker Hayes, Grandson and Vincint, following the Kesha Live tour in 2021. In 2023, she announced the release of her fifth album, Gag Order, produced by Rick Rubin and featuring the tracks "Fine Line" and "Eat the Acid". She founded her own label Kesha Records in 2024 and released "Joyride", her first independent single, which entered the charts and exceeded 100 million streams. She followed this up with "Delusional " and "Yippee-Ki-Yay", a duet with T-Pain, before releasing the entirely self-produced album Period in 2025.
