Kerbdog

Kerbdog, an Irish rock band from Kilkenny, was formed in 1991 by Cormac Battle (vocals/guitar), Colin Fennelly (bass guitar), and Darragh Butler (drums). The group initially performed under the name Rollercoaster, playing cover versions of songs by bands such as Sonic Youth and Spacemen 3. In early 1992, Billy Dalton joined as a second guitarist, and the band changed their name to Kerbdog. Their first single "Earthworks" was released in 1993. Kerbdog signed with Mercury Records subsidiary Vertigo in 1993 and recorded their self-titled debut album at Rockfield Studios, produced by Jack Endino. The album was preceded by the single "End of Green", which gained exposure during a support slot on The Almighty's UK tour. In 1994, Kerbdog released two further singles, "Dry Riser" and "Dummy Crusher". Their second album, On the Turn, was produced by GGGarth in Los Angeles and released in March 1997, preceded by the single "Mexican Wave". Despite critical acclaim, the album sold poorly, leading to the band's disbandment in late 1997. Notable singles from this period include "J.J.'s Song" and "Sally". Following their split, Kerbdog reformed for occasional performances starting in 2005, including a live album entitled Congregation, recorded in 2012 and released in October 2014.
