Kerala Dust is an electronic music band formed in London in 2016 by Edmund Kenny (vocals, production), Harvey Grant (keyboards) and Lawrence Howarth (guitar), combining elements of house, blues, psychedelic rock and downtempo. The band's atmospheric sound blends minimalist electronic rhythms, alternative rock-inspired guitars and deep, spoken vocals. After the release of the Motions EP in 2016, Kerala Dust began to make a name for themselves with tracks such as "Nevada" from the Late Sun EP (2017), "Maria" from Francesca's Frame (2018) and "Closer" from the EP of the same name (2019), released online and on electronic music platforms. Their compositions, often dark and cinematic, are nurtured by a variety of influences ranging from Can's krautrock to Berlin's deep house, while borrowing from trip-hop aesthetics and the nomadic spirit of the blues. In 2020, they release their debut album Light, West, but it's with an earlier track released in 2018, "The Chain", that the band achieves greater notoriety in 2022, acclaimed on music recognition sites worldwide. In 2023, Kerala Dust continued on their eclectic and elusive path with the album Violet Drive, which deepened their sonic exploration with denser production and an assertive narrative approach. Based in Berlin, the band's members are regularly active on stage, performing at festivals and clubs across Europe and beyond, with performances that are often hybrids of DJ sets and played instrumentation. In the space of ten years, Kerala Dust has established itself as a singular group in the contemporary electronic landscape, further demonstrating its open-mindedness with the album An Echo of Love (2025).
