Keiko Kubota

Keiko Kubota is a Japanese anison and J-pop singer who rose to fame in the early aughts as one of the vocalists of the Yuki Kajiura project FictionJunction. Born on December 5, 1985, she was raised in Tokyo's Shibuya neighborhood and took her first steps with the rock duo Itokubo. She joined FictionJunction in 2005 and went on to record two LPs with the group—Everlasting Songs (2009) and Elemental (2014)—as well as several singles such as "Kaze no Machi E" (2005) and "Nohara" (2014). In 2007, Yuki Kajiura recruited Keiko Kubota and fellow FictionJunction member Wakana for the vocal project Kalafina, which was active between 2008 and 2018 and released five studio albums that landed in the Top 10 of the Oricon charts. Lantana, her first solo LP, saw the light in 2020 via Avex Trax and went to Number 32 in Japan, followed by dew in 2021. Preceded by the single "Hitori Janai Kara," Keiko Kubota's third studio effort CUTLERY debuted at Number 37 on the Oricon Albums Chart in 2023.
