Kassi Valazza

Arizona-born Kassi Valazza grew up between Prescott and Phoenix, and began writing her first songs at the age of ten. Reluctant to perform, she studied painting, then returned to song after moving to Portland, Oregon. Encouraged by honky tonk singer Zach Bryson, she immersed herself in the city's music community and overcame her fear of the stage to promote her self-produced debut album Dear Dead Days (2019). Signed to Fluff & Gravy Records, she recorded Kassi Valazza Knows Nothing (2023), which quickly became a favorite with music critics. Ten years after arriving in Portland, Valazza moves to Nashville, before settling in New Orleans. In the meantime, songs were written for his 3rd album From Newman Street (2025), recorded at Matt Thomson's Echo Echo studio in Portland, but sounding like a farewell to the West Coast. The album, which considerably broadened her audience, was acclaimed by the press and reached No. 7 in the UK country charts.
