Kasba

Kasba, a group of 7 Dutch and Moroccan musicians, has been offering an energetic blend of North African and Western music, combined with socially engaged lyrics, since 2002. Invited to play at the wedding of Crown Prince Willem Alexander and his wife Maxima, the band received an unexpected spotlight right from the start, as the ceremony was broadcast in no less than 64 countries. Since then, the band has been electrifying TV and radio shows, where their spicy music impresses and unites more and more fans. A debut album entitled Sidi Yahia was released that same year, enabling the band to capitalize on their sudden notoriety and embark on a major tour that took in the Netherlands, Belgium and Morocco. Several other albums consolidated Kasba's place on the world music scene, including 2004's Chouf Chouf with its #1 hit "Yama Bomba ", 2006's Zigzag featuring songs in Arabic, English, French and Dutch, and 2011's Sodfa . In 2022, the group celebrated its 20th anniversary with a series of special concerts and the release of a new single entitled "Mama Walou".
