Karen Peck and New River, a southern gospel group based in Gainesville, Georgia, was formed in 1991 by Karen Peck Gooch, Susan Peck Jackson, and Rickey Gooch. Karen Peck Gooch joined The Nelons (formerly The Lefevres) in 1981 for a decade before forming her own group. Their debut album Karen Peck and New River was released in 1991, followed by Restoration in 1992. Notable songs include "Why Can't All God's Children Get Along" (1992) and "God Answers Prayer" (1993). The group has had five consecutive Number 1 songs in southern gospel music and received multiple awards, including 11 Favorite Soprano Fan Awards from The Singing News Magazine. Their album Journey of Joy was nominated for a Grammy in 2008. Karen Peck and New River have performed on prestigious stages such as The Grand Ole Opry and Gaither Homecoming concerts.
