Born at the height of the Cameroonian mbolé scene in the late 2010s, Kankan Boys took root in the heart of the Efoulan district in the capital Yaoundé. The group made an immediate impression with their first track, "Tchapeu tchapeu (Les pleurs du mbolé)" (2020), on which they showcased the rhythm originally found in wakes and reintroduced by Cameroon's youth. Electric and danceable, the group soon followed up this initial success with "Mbolé chinois " (2020). Moving into the music scene, with featurings with Majoie Ayi on "Parler parler " (2021) and Cabrel figure Nanjip for "Suis pas maudit" (2022), the group asserted itself and returned to the forefront in 2023 with a new hit: "Balancez la-bas".
