Kaidi Tatham

Kaidi Tatham is a British musician renowned for his virtuosity as a pianist, producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist. Often dubbed the "British Herbie Hancock" by DJ Benji B , he is one of the leading figures of the broken beat movement that emerged in London in the late 1990s. He made his name as part of the Bugz in the Attic collective, a mainstay of the London broken beat scene, and has also been a member of bands such as 2000Black, Neon Phusion and New Sector Movements . His style fuses jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop and electronic music, with a predilection for syncopated grooves, complex harmonies and warm textures. As a keyboardist, he is renowned for his expressive playing on Fender Rhodes and piano, blending jazz improvisation with a rhythmic sensibility inherited from funk and house. Kaidi Tatham has collaborated with many renowned artists, including 4hero, The Herbaliser, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Amy Winehouse, Mulatu Astatke, Slum Village, Soul II Soul and Leroy Burgess. He has also worked with Dego (of 4hero) on several projects, including the duo Dego & Kaidi. Among the dozen albums released under his name are It's a World Before You (2018), An Insight to All Minds (2021), Don't Rush the Process (2022), The Only Way (2023) and Miles Away (2025).
