Japanese jazz pianist Junko Onishi, who emigrated to the United States, accompanied the cream of the New York scene before proving herself as a soloist, trio or quintet. The two volumes of Live At The Village Vanguard (1994-95) were followed by albums and tours until 1999, when she suddenly disappeared. After a decade of silence, Junko Onishi returned to the studio for the excellent Musical Moments (2009) and Baroque (2010).
