JuanmaDrums (Juan Manuel Cuello) is a Colombian percussionist, singer and producer from Valledupar who works under the “Vallenato Session” concept, blending classic vallenato instrumentation with contemporary live and audiovisual performance. In 2015 he was posting musical tributes and covers (for example songs associated with Martín Elías and Rolando Ochoa) on platforms like SoundCloud, which helped him cultivate a following. In 2020 he released his first full album Hecho en Colombia (Vallenato Session), marking a formal recorded debut under his name. Following that, in 2022 he dropped Conecta2 (Vallenato Session), expanding both the production quality and the repertoire of originals and reinterpretations. In 2023 he released Vallenato Session En Vivo, a live album capturing the energy of his live sets. In 2024 JuanmaDrums released A La Cuenta de 3 (Vallenato Session), continuing to refine his sound. In 2025 he issued Homenaje Al Gran Martín Elias (Vallenato Session), an 11-song album honoring the late vallenato star, and also released several singles and live-session tracks like “La Foto (En Vivo)” and “El DM” featuring La Banda del 5, confirming his steady output and engagement with live audience formats.
