Joya Marleen was born on April 28, 2003 in St. Gallen, Switzerland, and is an up-and-coming pop artist. She was influenced by her musical family at an early age and began to develop her passion for music. With her single "Nightmare", she made history in 2021 by becoming the first Swiss artist to reach number 1 in the national airplay charts. The song establishes her as a permanent fixture in the Swiss music scene. In 2023, Joya Marleen released her debut album Fish in Your Glass, which reached number 23 in the Swiss charts and was praised by critics. Stylistically, she moves in the pop genre, characterized by catchy melodies and emotional lyrics. Joya Marleen wins three Swiss Music Awards in 2022 as Best Female Solo Act and Best Talent SRF 3 as well as for Best Hit (for "Nightmare"). In 2025, the artist releases her second studio album, The Wind Is Picking Up. The album climbs to number 11.
