Joshua Taylor Bassett, born December 22 2000 in Oceanside, California, is an American singer-songwriter and actor whose career began in teen television, most notably as Aidan Peters on Stuck in the Middle and as Ricky Bowen in the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, for which he received a Children’s and Family Emmy Award in 2023. After signing with Warner Bros. Records in 2020, he released the single "Common Sense" and the EP Joshua Bassett on March 12 2021, showcasing his ability to play multiple instruments. He followed with the EP Crisis / Secret / Set Me Free on December 3 2021, featuring the single "Doppelgänger" in February 2022. Joshua Taylor Bassett’s debut studio album, The Golden Years, was issued July 26 2024 under Warner, preceded by the lead single "The Golden Years" on May 17 2024. He headlined the Joshua Bassett Tour in 2022, the Complicated Tour in 2023, and the Golden Years Tour in 2024, and collaborated with Olivia Rodrigo on the duet "Just for a Moment" and with Matt Cornett on "Speak Out". He charted on the US Bubbling Under Hot 100 and the UK Singles chart, and received a Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award for the High School Musical series.
