Josh Ritter

Joshua B. Ritter, known as Josh Ritter, was born on October 21, 1976, in Moscow, Idaho, and is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist. His musical journey began with a fascination for Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan, leading him to purchase his first guitar at age 14. After graduating from Oberlin College, Ritter recorded his self-titled debut album Josh Ritter in 1999. In 2003, he released Hello Starling, which debuted at Number 2 on the Irish charts and marked a significant breakthrough. Ritter's subsequent albums include The Animal Years (2006), The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter (2007), the first to enter the Billboard 200 at 79th place, and So Runs the World Away (2010), which reached the top position on US Folk chart. His work has been recognized by figures like Stephen King, and his music has been featured in various media. He followed with albums The Beast in Its Tracks (2013, number 3 in Folk chart), Sermon on the Rocks (2015, number 1), Gathering (2017, number 4), Fever Breaks (2019, number 4), Spectral Lines (2023), and Heaven, Or Someplace as Nice (2024). In 2025 was released I Believe in You, My Honeydew.
