John Spillane

John Spillane, born 1961 in Cork, Ireland, is an Irish singer-songwriter began with local bands such as Nomos and the Stargazers while studying Irish and English at UCC. He promoted the Irish language with The Gaelic Hit Factory (2008) and the double‑platinum Irish Songs We Learned at School (2008). Subsequent releases included More Irish Songs We Learned At School (2009) and A Rock to Cling To (2011). His collaborations with poet Louis de Paor earned consecutive victories at the Realta Irish Song Contest.
